The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) was established under the National Standards Act of 1945 and is part of the South African Department of Trade and Industry. SABS is a neutral third-party certification body in South Africa responsible for system certification and product certification in South Africa. In addition to the responsibility for standard setting, SABS also represents national regulatory standards and grants the right to use the logo for products that meet the specifications. SABS Mark is widely used in various fields and has become a mark of product quality assurance.
 
Certification process
1. The manufacturer completes the application form
2. If the factory has more than one factory, you will need to fill out the application form. Each product within the scope of certification is required to be reflected on the application form. In addition, the factory also needs to fill in the application form of the responsible person's credit, the responsible person must guarantee the first review fee and other certification fees;
3. After receiving the application form, the South African Bureau of Standards will issue a revised quotation;
4. The South African Bureau of Standards will conduct a factory review on the premise that the quotation is approved;
5. If the above review is approved, the South African Bureau of Standards will prepare an annual supervision contract;
6. There will be two auditors conducting random reviews each year, and the annual cost of supervision review and testing will be stated on the contract;
7. Two auditors will take samples to the laboratory;
8. Samples of future tests, the South African Bureau of Standards will be drawn from the goods of South African sellers. If the batch of goods is less than 4 times a year, then insufficient samples will be sent from the factory, the cost will be from the factory. bear;
9. If the test result is unqualified, then the cost of the sample and the cost of the retest will be borne by the factory;
10. The certificate will be valid for three years unless the certificate is cancelled for other reasons.
 
Precautions
1. South Africa's certification is divided into two cases: the first application is that LOA and COC are mandatory for South African imports, and this certification procedure is not allowed to label the SASB trademark on the label of the product. The factory application is required; the second application is based on the first application and can be applied for SABS Mark again. The use of this mark requires a series of factory inspection procedures, which cost a lot and must pay a certain amount each year. The annual fee and the factory inspection fee are used as the sign.
2. The COC is an EMI test. The LOA is approved by the Letter of authority agent and goes directly to South Africa.
