"Pre-shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC)" is a new measure by the Standards Bureau to replace the past "Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI)" under the WTO rules. This measure stipulates that all goods entering Kenya must demonstrate compliance with Kenyan standards or be accredited by the ISO/IEC 17025 system, the International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (ILAC) or the International Association of Inspection Agencies (the International Product of Inspection Agencies, IFIA) issued "Product Test Certificate".
Product certification scope
1. All used products, including but not limited to:
Electronics (including electronic devices) and electrical products (including household appliances), motorcycles, bicycles, textiles. Used tires, auto parts and accessories.
2. Food, agricultural products, including but not limited to:
Packaged foods, milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, juices, beverages, alcoholic beverages, oils, cereals, sugar and sugar products, animal feed.
3. Chemical products, including but not limited to:
M/V tires, bicycle tires, pencils, ballpoint pens, rubber condoms, paper and paper products, soaps and detergents, shoe polish, safety matches, fertilizers, water purifiers, cement.
4. Fuel and petroleum products, including but not limited to:
Gasoline, paraffin, oil and lubricants.
5. Textiles, including but not limited to:
Fabrics, clothing, yarn, blankets, upholstery, furniture fabrics, rags, carpets.
6. Footwear, including but not limited to footwear made from the following materials:
Leather, rubber, plastic, canvas or other synthetic products.
7. Toys and childcare products (all categories), including but not limited to:
Doll, miniature and simulation model
8. Electronics (including electronic devices) and electrical products, including but not limited to:
Electronics (including electronic devices) and electrical products: household appliances, photocopiers, computers, printers, and other electronic consumables other than lamp holders, switches, and plugs
9. Mechanical products, including but not limited to:
LPG cylinders and fittings, petrol and kerosene stoves, windproof lights, locks, nails, hand tools, bicycles, auto parts, shock absorbers, fan belts, seat belts, brake pads, spark plugs.
The cost of PVOC consists of three parts.
1. Registration fee
Within 15 product names (including 15 product names), it is USD375.00, and each of more than 15 product names is USD20.00. If you change your registration certificate, you can change USD40.00 within 2 places (including two places), more than 2 places. Add USD20.00

Certification period
The period for applying for PVOC certification in Kenya depends on the application route. In the early stage, when the application materials are qualified, the route 1 is adopted, and the certificate can be obtained in about 2 weeks; the second route is subject to strict test report review. If the retest is generated, the time is much longer, generally 2-3 week.
