The Singapore Consumer Protection Act 1991 specifies the Singapore Standard, the Productivity and Innovation Commission as the Product Safety Function, responsible for licensing and registering products covered by the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Registration Program (CPS). Only registered products bearing the SAFETY logo can be sold in Singapore, and all units responsible for selling the goods to consumers in Singapore must register each model with the safety authority. This model must be verified by a certificate and test report to comply with the mandatory product safety label. At present, Singapore only requires safety, and EMC is only a voluntary principle.
 
Safety requirements: Under the requirements of IEC standards, the products must also meet the tropical conditions test, and the Singapore certification must provide local agents, and the certificate holders are also local agents. After the product is acquired, the product can be sold in Singapore.
 
Certification considerations
1. The certificate holder is a local registered company in Singapore;
2. No factory inspection and annual fee;
3. The certificate is valid for three years;
4. If the product is a direct plug-in power supply, the plug should meet the relevant requirements. For example, the European standard plug must comply with EN50075, and the British standard plug must meet the requirements of BS1363 or SS246, and have relevant plug test reports;
5. There is no series application for product certification. Each certificate can only cover a single model and a trademark;
6. If you have a valid CB certificate or report, you do not normally need to provide samples;
7. Certification standards: IEC standards + Singapore differences, or SS standards;
 
Certification data preparation
1. Validity period within three years CB certificate and test report (English only)
2. Label (Apply PSB only accepts a single model, does not accept series model application)
3. Circuit diagram and layout
4. Parts Material Sheet (BOM)
5. Architecture / Engineering Drawings and Parts List
6. English manual
7. Color photos, including exterior and internal (important safety parts) photo files
8. Other information, name, address and contact details of the importer or agent in Singapore
