RoHS Overview
RoHS is a mandatory standard enacted by EU legislation, and its full name is the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (Restriction of Hazardous Substances).
The standard was officially implemented on July 1, 2006. It is mainly used to standardize materials and process standards for electrical and electronic products, making it more conducive to human health and environmental protection.
RoHS testing product range
The Rohs Directive covers electronic and electrical products listed under the catalogues of AC1000V and DC1500:
1). Large household appliances: refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, etc.;
2). Small household appliances: vacuum cleaners, electric irons, hair dryers, ovens, clocks, etc.;
3).IT and communication equipment: computers, fax machines, telephones, mobile phones, etc.;
4). Civil installations: radios, televisions, video recorders, musical instruments, etc.;
5). lighting fixtures: fluorescent lamps, etc., other than household lighting, lighting control devices;
6). Power tools: electric drills, lathes, welding, sprayers, etc. (except for large-scale industrial tools to be installed);
7). Toys/entertainment, sports equipment: electric vehicles, video game consoles;
8). Medical equipment: radiotherapy apparatus, electrocardiogram tester, analytical instrument, etc.;
9). Surveillance/control equipment: smoke detectors, incubators, factory monitoring and control machines, etc.;
10). Vending machine;
Among them, the RoHS directive does not apply to the 8th and 9th. All of the above are within the scope of the NTEK business.
RoHS testing and certification data preparation
1). only heavy metal detection: solids need to provide about 5-10g, liquid needs to provide 5-10mL;
2). only brominates flame retardant detection: solids need to provide about 10-20g, liquid needs to provide 10-20mL;
3) Conduct heavy metal transport organic pollutant detection: provide about 20-30g of sample;
4). perform other organic pollutant detection: provide about 30g of sample;
5). Only the sample of the coating (coating) part should be inspected, and the approximate weight of the material part of the coating (coating) should be indicated; if the weight of the coating (coating) part does not meet the sample feeding amount, plating is required. (Coating) raw materials.
RoHS inspection factory inspection
Factory inspection is not required, but in general RoHS will require a one-year validity period. In fact, the RoHS test report itself is based on the analysis of the product.
