On October 12, 2011, the Canadian Gazette (Part II) officially issued the Amendment 11 of the Product Energy Efficiency Directive, which was officially implemented on April 12, 2012.

The following seven categories of products have been enhanced with regard to the requirements of the “Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards” and the scope of control:
Electric motor
Domestic gas boiler;
Household kerosene boiler;
Dry type transformer
Large air conditioning facilities and heat pumps;
Commercial integrated refrigerator;
Self-contained incandescent lamps;
New requirements for minimum energy efficiency standards and reporting matters for the following products are proposed:
Electronic product standby energy consumption
- Audio products
 - TV, monitor, etc.
 - Video playback products
External power supply
Digital TV adapter
Electric boiler
Single stereo air conditioner and heat pump
Mandatory directives for producers and importers
 
All manufacturers and importers must follow this directive to ensure that the products produced and imported meet the minimum energy efficiency standards required by the Directive. Manufacturers and importers should be tested by an accredited third-party certification body to obtain performance-performance reports and certificates.
 
NRcan and ERP, GEMS, CEC, etc. are all energy efficiency requirements, and the requirements are similar. However, NRcan currently controls the most stringent energy efficiency requirements. This application is required for the application. There is a certificate after the application and there is a relevant annual fee. Applications are basically applied for by a single model.
